Ok, since we are talking about similar subject matters, please allow me to make the transition to one of my all time favorite films. now, in this beautiful dark, comedic crime thriller nobody wakes up with a blackout, that would be a bit much, but in this case we have another guy that has left his crime life behind. he used to be a big dog. ruthless, cold and greedy, but that was a long time ago. nowadays he works as an architect, lives in a nice and cozy suburban home and has become to comfy in this environment that even his wife gets bored by his predictable, yes even devote behavior. that is until, one thursday his ex partner turns up. he also seems to have gotten his legal life together and they celebrate them temporarily getting back together. everything would have stayed perfectly safe, quiet and peaceful, if our protagonist would just have refused to temporarily look after a locked metal briefcase, that his ex-partner asks him to store in his house, until getting back from a short trip…. because over that suitcase … all hell is about to break loose. yeah and i don’t use that term lightly. Shit’s about to hit the fan!
i won’t reveal anything more, because that’s the point where here the real fun starts, just like in blackout (2013) but much more drastic. this one is not for the faint hearted. sex, blood, violence, action, extremely dark humor and wacky wacky characters en masse. just when you thought, they can not possibly pile up more stress and madness upon our protagonist, the makers of this film prove you wrong again and again. oh and at one point, just as if it was the most natural thing in the world … Mickey Rourke (v 1.0) makes a surprise visit … and then … back to madness.
this is just another film that is fun to watch. it’s clever, it’s brutal, it’s funny. a must see.
